Results of the XII Congress of Oncologists and Radiologists of CIS and Eurasia
"Together we will be able to give a worthy rebuff not only to oncological diseases, but also to pandemics"

The XII Extraordinary Congress of Oncologists and Radiologists of CIS and Eurasia named after N.N. Trapeznikov ended on April 9. It was timed to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the first Congress of the Association of Directors of Cancer and Radiology Institutes and Centers of the CIS and Eurasia. Over the years, the Association has held more than 30 meetings and 11 congresses, founded the Eurasian Journal of Cancer, which has become the official journal of the Association. This year the event was attended by over 8000 specialists from 21 countries.
The significance and authority of the congerss was noted by the President of Russia V.V. Putin who in his welcoming address to the participants of the Congress reminded that it was largely thanks to N.N. Trapeznikov's talent and highest competence that advanced technologies and developments for treatment of oncologic patients were introduced into clinical practice: "He was able to consolidate the efforts of the medical community around important and priority goals," noted the President. Vladimir Putin also emphasized that the country's oncology service has withstood the test of a new coronavirus pandemic with honor, and today much is being done in the country to improve the effectiveness of medical care.
Traditionally, within the framework of the Congress the results of the Competition of young scientists were summarized, in which specialists from 13 medical institutions of the CIS countries took part. The winners of the competition will undergo an internship at the Federal State Budgetary Institution "RNC of Radiology" of the Ministry of Health of Russia. The Trapeznikov Memorial Medal was awarded to honorary members of ADIOR who have made a great contribution to the development of oncology service in their countries: Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences M.I. Davydov, Rector of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbayev I.O. Kudaibergenov, Director of the Institute of Oncology of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova L.I. Katrinich, Adviser to the Director General of the FSBI "RNC Radiology" of the Ministry of Health of Russia, President of the Eastern European Group for the Study of Sarcomas M.D. Aliyev and the General Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "RNC of Oncology" of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Head of the Department of Oncology of RostSMU O.I. Kit.

The next XIII Congress of oncologists and radiologists of the CIS and Eurasia will be held in April 2022 in the capital of Kazakhstan - Nur-Sultan.
